Frequently Asked Questions
-
It's a guided tasting experience tailored to you and your group - think less intimidating sommelier, more curious friend who really did her homework. We'll explore a selection of wines together, talk about what you're tasting, and most importantly, figure out what you actually enjoy. No wrong answers.
-
The minimum is 4 people, so grab your friends, colleagues, or that one family member who always brings a bottle of Pinot Grigio to every dinner. The more the merrier and the more wines we get to try - just send me a quote request and we'll figure out the details!
-
Tastings start from €35 per person. The final price depends on the number of guests, the wines we choose, and what kind of experience you're after. Fill in the quote request form and I'll come back to you with a tailored proposal.
-
That's up to you! I can come to your home, your office, or another venue of your choice. As long as there's a table, curiousity, and willing participants - we're good to go.
-
A bit of both! I'll ask you a few questions about your preferences and the occasion, and then curate a selection that makes sense for your group. If you have specific requests (a region, a grape, a budget), I'll absolutely factor those in.
-
Absolutely not - that's kind of the whole point. Whether your group is full of complete beginners or people who think they know a thing or two, I'll adjust to any level. No jargon required (unless you want it).
-
Both, fortunately. I hold WSET Level 2 (with Distinction) and WSET Level 3 (with Merit), so I’ve got proven academical knowledge. But beyond the books, I've spent time with winemakers, visited wine shops, and even did two weeks in a cellar during harvest in Stellenbosch. The passion came first - the qualifications just gave it some structure.
-
Yes! Alongside private tastings, I also offer guidance for people working towards their WSET 2 & 3. Whether you're struggling with appellations, grape varieties, or just need someone to taste through study wines with you - reach out and I'll see how I can help
-
This is literally why I do this. Wine can feel unnecessarily serious and gatekept, and I think that's a shame. The goal is never to impress anyone - it's to figure out what you enjoy. Even I buy the bottle I don’t like sometimes, and I'd love to help you feel comfortable doing the same. You can’t learn by always drinking the same.
-
All the bottles I feature on @winesinthehague are available in local shops around The Hague - that's always been a deliberate choice. No point recommending something you can't actually get your hands on. So stay tuned for the lastest bangers!
